Dr. Jackie and Dr. Simone’s Husbands Have a Lot of Feelings About Their Wives’ Current Friendship Status
A first look at the Married to Medicine Season 9 premiere includes some big news about where things stand between the doctors.
Time truly heals all wounds. After some previous ups and downs, which continued through Season 8, Dr. Jackie Walters and Dr. Simone Whitmore came into the new season of Married to Medicine in a good place. The friends opened up about reconnecting and starting fresh in this first look at the Season 9 premiere, which airs on July 10, revealing why they were ready to let bygones be bygones.
“Jackie and I had not been in a good place in over two years,” Simone recalled in an interview in the Season 9 premiere, adding, “We didn’t realize that we needed to put in a little work. Me having to hop right off of the petty boat, [and] Jackie having to let some of that pride and ego fall down a notch to get the friendship back on track.”
“We both had a moment where we were like, ‘We’re tired. We’re just tired of not being friends. I miss my friend,’” Jackie added in a separate interview in the episode.
Of course, now that Jackie and Simone are in a better place, it means their husbands, Cecil Whitmore and Curtis Berry, can hang out again as well. And fans got a new look at their bromance in Sunday’s episode, which included bonding over cars and “wings” (which, in case you didn’t know, is code for the strip club as we learn in the above sneak peek at Sunday's episode). “When Simone and Jackie were not getting along, Curtis and I definitely missed out on some Magic City wings,” Cecil noted in an interview moment in the episode.
His wife’s response? “I feel horrible.” (We’re sure.)
