Captain Jason Chambers Reacts to *That* Comment from the First BDDU Charter Guests

The Below Deck Down Under captain revealed how he really felt when a guest called him a “bitch.”

The first charter on Below Deck Down Under Season 2 quickly hit some troubled waters — and it had nothing to do with the Northern Sun vessel itself.

Captain Jason Chambers and his crew kicked off the charter season on July 17, and it didn’t take long for the first set of guests to stir up some drama

After most of the guests and crew members went to bed on night one, charter guests Brandon and Kristyl asked stew Laura Bileskalne if they could go for a late-evening swim. When their request was denied due to safety concerns, the two took it upon themselves to jump into the water anyway.

The incident led to Laura waking Captain Jason at 2 a.m., and he got into a verbal confrontation with Brandon about the dangers of defying an “out of the question” order.

“If you go back in the water, we’re going back to the marina,” Jason told the duo in the closing moments of Season 2 Episode 1.

“Bitch, f-ck off!” Brandon said in response to Jason’s threat. Though the captain decided to give the guests another chance, he had a different reaction to Brandon’s comment when he appeared on the July 24 episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.

The Below Deck Down Under captain ultimately allowed the first charter to continue despite two of the guests breaking the rules, but he feels a bit differently about the situation now.

“I took it pretty lightly, I must admit,” he told host Andy Cohen on WWHL about how he responded when Brandon called him a name. “But my reaction was [to] march the boat back to the marina and sort it out there, I suppose.”

Jason then explained why he decided to defuse the situation instead of ending the charter early.

“I could have said a lot, but it was 2 o’clock in the morning,” he continued. “I just wanted to get to bed.”

How Captain Jason Chambers Handled the Situation on Below Deck Down Under

After Brandon told Jason to “f-ck off,” he walked back the comment.

“I meant ‘f-ck off’ as in ‘Ah, I feel, like, bad!’” he said at the beginning of Season 2 Episode 2, which aired on July 24. “I apologize. I’m sorry.”

Jason took in the apology and issued a final warning to Kristyl and Brandon.

“You’re just rolling down a hill, you know,” he said. “All you have to do now is just call it a night, go to sleep, and everyone’s good.”

“We’re gonna shut that down right where it is,” Brandon said.

“Please do,” Jason said, adding that he was going to “put the lid on alcohol” for the night as well. As he explained in an interview on the episode, he didn’t want to punish the rest of the guests for Kristyl and Brandon’s swimming mistake.

“I don’t want to ruin a charter. I’ve warned them not to get back in the water, but if they want to make the bad choice, that’s on them,” he concluded. “I will go back to the marina and call the charter off.”
