Are You Being Catfished on Bumble by Below Deck Cast Members?

No, it's not a dating app mirage: that is actually Below Deck Mediterranean's Hannah Ferrier on Tinder. Hannah is single and looking to mingle and told Kate Chastain all about her formula for dating app efficiency on After Deck with Kate Chastain. 

"I'm actively trying to date people that are not my type," Hannah explained on Tuesday night's episode of After Deck. "I usually go for, like, good-looking, tall, extrovert, salespeople, company owners. Now I'm going, like, 'I need to find a shorter introvert that's more cute than handsome.'" Great news for Hobbit-like basement-dwellers.

Hannah said many Below Deck Mediterranean fans are skeptical when they see Hannah's image pop up on their Tinder or Bumble feed. "I've had two emails on my Instagram, actually, like two direct messages. And they're like, 'Oh, hey! We just saw you on Bumble and we're wondering why you need to be on Bumble." 

That's when Kate revealed her own dating app secret. "Hannah, that's why my Bumble is fake!" she responded. Kate explained that one night, after several glasses of wine, a few of her friends convinced her to create a profile. True to form, Kate had some fun with it. "I put my first name and then I put photos that aren't me, but they could be!" she said. "I even put a fake Halo picture. I found a dog that looks like Halo, but it's not Halo." And for Kate's main photo? "It's Rachel Zoe in the Med," she said. 

Hannah's photos and name are real, but she has created a speed dating-like process for meeting up with her matches to quickly determines who is worth a second date. "I'm doing these things called 'express dates,'" Hannah explained. "Basically, you tell the person, 'I can only meet you for one drink. I've got this afterward or that afterward.'" She chooses a different bar for each date, but all within the same general area. "You do one at 4 p.m., one at 5 p.m., one at 6 p.m., and then you're with your girlfriends at 7 p.m."
