Tinsley Mortimer Had the Best First Year Out of Any New York Housewife EVER, According to Kate Chastain
The #BelowDeck chief stew also related to the #RHONY rookie's legal drama.
When it comes to this year's The Real Housewives Awards, Kate Chastain, who is a self-proclaimed "huge Housewives fan," is all about The Real Housewives of New York City.
So basically, all of the Big Apple pals have the Below Deck chief stew's vote, especially her faves Dorinda Medley and Carole Radziwill. "I think Dorinda is amazing. She always dresses really cool and really flashy. And I think she's really authentic. I don't think she's being anybody but Dorinda. And she's vocal about her opinions, but she's also got a kind heart. I don't think she's malicious in any way. And if she does ever have too many martinis and get a little wild, the next day she's always apologetic and sincere about it," Kate gushed to The Daily Dish. "I really love Carole. She dresses really cool, she's a writer, she's just cool. And she's pretty witty as well but low drama."
But Kate has really fallen in love with Tinsley Mortimer this season of RHONY. The Below Deck yachtie gave a strong argument for why the RHONY rookie deserves to take home the award for "The New Girl." "I really like the addition of Tinsley. I think Tinsley's a great new Housewife of New York. I mean, she was the It Girl. She's beautiful. She has great fashion," Kate explained. "I think she's starting to hold her own with these more experienced Housewives. She's great for her first year. I'm not sure any other first year Housewife of New York has been as good as Tinsley."
Kate also said that she related to Tinsley on a personal level. "Well, I related to Tinsley as well because I know that she went through some legal drama that was embarrassing for her, so I really related to her about that. And I think at the beginning of the season, she was still kind of dealing with it," she said. "But then throughout the season, she was able to get back to who she is."
But it's a RHONY vet who always lights up the screen and is deserving of the title of "Class Comedian," according to Kate. "I actually think that Sonja [Morgan] is a comedic genius. There was one clip where they were starting a fire, they were putting newspapers, she goes, 'Oh look, a sale.' If you watch, there are subtle humor moments that Sonja just nails. It's great," Kate said. "You never know what Sonja's gonna say, but it's usually funny."
