We Have an Update on How Courtney Veale Is Doing as a Deckhand

Courtney Veale came aboard the Home a little later than the rest of the Below Deck Mediterranean Season 7 crew, but it seems like she's settling into life, and her new role as a deckhand, on the boat quite nicely.

In fact, even when she's taking on tasks that are a little bit "dangerous," like driving the tender, she's impressing the team around her, including Captain Sandy Yawn. "You know, it's really cool with the deckhands [who] finally find their groove [and] having Courtney on deck is definitely a part of this. So, yeah, I'm pleased with the deck crew " Captain Sandy says in the show clip, above. "They have a rhythm."

Courtney, who previously appeared on Season 6 of Below Deck Med, was very excited to be back working with Captain Sandy as well as deckhand Mzi “Zee” Dempers when she joined the crew earlier this season.

“I’m excited to be back, but very nervous to be on deck,” Courtney told her boss in the August 15 episode. And in an interview in the episode, she added, “I’m back! I was kind of in two minds after last season. Like, being promoted to second stew, last season it was so intense and I was constantly inside and stressed and never saw daylight. So when I left Lady Michelle, I went to the Bahamas and did the last bit of the Caribbean season as a deckie. I definitely feel like a deckhand fits my personality better than a stew. Getting the call from Sandy to come back, I’m excited, but I’m super nervous as well. I’m ready to get to twerk.”
