The end of June Foster's time on Below Deck Mediterranean was just the beginning of an amazing new adventure for the stew.
June announced on Instagram on January 29 that her book, The Girl and the Golden Leaf, has been optioned to become a movie. "I’m so excited to share with my friends and family that I’ve optioned the screenplay adaptation I co-wrote (with screenwriter-producer [Rick Rapier]) for my novel The Girl and the Golden Leaf," June shared in the post.
She ended the message, "Thank you all for your wonderful support."
The Girl and the Golden Leaf, which was published in 2018, tells the story of 16-year-old Tia and her twin brother, Finn, who are left orphaned and impoverished after the recent deaths of their parents. The siblings' luck appears to turn around when a Hollywood producer offers the siblings roles in his film. However, this globetrotting novel ultimately questions whether Tia's faith will "be enough to survive the darkest pits of humanity."
Several members of the Below Deck family showed their support for June's latest accomplishment by liking the post on Instagram, including Anastasia Surmava, João Franco, Ashton Pienaar, Colin Macy-O'Toole, and Rhylee Gerber. Anastasia also commented on the post, "Congrats babe!!! This is amazing!!"
June also uses her writing to support a wide range of conservation and children's non-profit organizations, according to her bio on her website.
