Captain Sandy Yawn Reveals Where Malia White Was During Below Deck Med Season 7
Mzi “Zee” Dempers also has some bad news for Captain Sandy in this first look at the Season 7 premiere.
Below Deck Mediterranean is back with a (mostly) new crew for Season 7. Aside from returning deckhand Mzi “Zee” Dempers, Captain Sandy Yawn will welcome a totally new batch of yachties aboard motor yacht Home this season, including chief stew Natasha Webb, chef Dave White, bosun Raygan Tyler, stews Natalya Scudder and Kyle Viljoen, and deckhands Storm Smith and Jason Gaskell.
Notably missing from this season’s crew is Malia White, who first joined Below Deck Med as a deckhand in Season 2 before serving as bosun in Seasons 5 and 6. And in an exclusive first look at the Below Deck Med Season 7 premiere, which airs on Bravo with a supersize episode on Monday, July 11, at 8/7c, we find out what Malia is up to when the charter season kicks off.
As Captain Sandy welcomes new bosun Raygan onto the yacht, she explains in an interview in the above clip that Malia wasn’t able to be a part of her crew this season because of another job opportunity. “It would have been great to have Malia back, but right now she’s chief officer on another vessel,” Captain Sandy says.
However, Captain Sandy is thrilled that Raygan will be her bosun this season. “To be able to give this opportunity to a female on deck is incredible, because someone gave me that opportunity,” Captain Sandy shares. “So I want to be able to extend that forward.”
Captain Sandy will have one familiar face among the crew this season. As previously mentioned, Zee will be back as deckhand. However, he has some news for Captain Sandy that’s going to seriously impact the Home crew’s charter season.
