Below Deck Sailing Yacht's Madison Stalker Opens up About Her Sister's Tragic Passing
"She’s my catalyst for happiness," the second stew said.
Madison Stalker opened up about her painful past in the March 9 episode of Below Deck Sailing Yacht.
The second stew talked to Byron Hissey about her family as the two sat in the crew mess enjoying some cake. However, Madison admitted during an interview in the episode, "I don't really like talking about my family. We've been through a lot."
Then Madison revealed that she and her family have suffered a tragic loss. "December 22, 2014. Paige, my sister, she had texted me that she wanted to go to the movies, and she went to go pick up her other friends, and they were stopped somewhere in Detroit," she shared. "And a car pulled in front of them. And one of the kids in the car's brother apparently owed drug money. And two guys got out with AK-47s and shot like 45 rounds into my sister's car. All five kids survived except for my sister."
Madison added, "To feel the weight of that for years is just like, it makes me not want to go home."
However, Madison said that she has used her sister's passing as motivation to not waste any time in making her own dreams happen. "I just went through this moment of being like, 'Oh my god, I could die tomorrow.' And I was like, what do I want out of life?" she said during the episode. "And then I used my sister's death to kind of propel all of those things that I wanted. I'm not gonna do things that don't make me happy."
Fans praised Madison for being so brave in sharing her story on Below Deck Sailing Yacht. "She’s my catalyst for happiness," Madison said of her sister in a tweet on March 10 in response to one fan.
