Below Deck's Tanner Sterback Shares Update on His 6 Weeks of Recovery from a Skateboarding Accident
"Scars are beginning to fade and fractures are healing," the deckhand shared.
Tanner Sterback is on the mend after being hospitalized for a skateboarding accident earlier this month.
The Below Deck yachtie shared an update on his recovery in a post on Instagram on March 26 that featured a photo of him getting in some sun and pool time in Pompano Beach, Florida. "Hey everyone, week 2 of 6 of recovery is in the books and just want to thank everyone who [has] reached out and [has] provided such positivity and love. This injury hasn’t been the easiest to deal with but I am lucky enough to be surrounded by great people and nothing but support," Tanner wrote. "Scars are beginning to fade and fractures are healing."
Tanner also sent his love to everyone during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. "I truly hope all of you are safe and are finding the right shows and snacks to binge on during this quarantine process," he said. "Wish you all nothing but the best and sending my love to you all."
The deckhand ended up in the ICU of the hospital earlier this month when a car came "too close for comfort" while he was out riding his electric skateboard. Tanner previously opened up about the accident in a post on Instagram on March 19 that featured a photo of him with wounds on his face, hands, and arms, as well as a white bandage wrapped around his left wrist.
"Waking up in the ICU was intimidating. I suffered a fractured skull, and a few abrasions. The sublime doctors at the Broward trauma center have called me very lucky and after a week in the hospital I am grateful to be home with my family surrounded by love and gratitude," Tanner shared in the post that began with the advice to "always wear a helmet."
"Long road of recovery ahead but I am so grateful and I plan on continuing to shine a positive outlook, share positivity and love," he said. "I Hope everyone is safe and doing well. Much love!"
