Bethenny Frankel Claps Back at Rumors About Her Engagement to Paul Bernon
The RHONY alum addressed a recent Instagram in which she was spotted without her engagement ring.
Bethenny Frankel has taken to Instagram to address speculation about her engagement to Paul Bernon after she posted a photo in which she wasn't wearing her ring (photo below). The Real Housewives of New York City alum has since spoken out about the attention the Instagram snapshot received.
"I didn't have to address rumors, but rumors hurt and affect other people, as does irresponsible press," she said in Instagram Stories on Tuesday (December 21), via E! News. "I'm engaged to a wonderful man named Paul. We got engaged in February, and months later, I was swimming and had my ring on, and then it came out that we were engaged, 'cause we didn't make an announcement. We didn't feel that we wanted to announce being engaged."
She went on to say, "I don't always wear my ring. I don't have to always wear my ring. Sometimes I don't feel that it's safe. Sometimes my fingers swell or contract. But I'm doing me."
E! News notes her ring made an appearance when she was addressing the rumors in her Instagram Stories this week. "It's my opinion that a relationship is about the two people in the relationship and the commitment and the feelings," she said. "Not about announcements, not about pomp and circumstance, not about jewelry. It's symbolism and if I decide to wear an engagement toe ring, then so be it."
Bethenny and Paul have been together since 2018 (they have reportedly split up and gotten back together in the past); she confirmed her engagement to Paul back in March shortly after she was spotted out with an engagement ring.
Back in November, Bethenny shared some Instagrams with Paul and daughter Bryn, including a sweet tribute to the two special people in her life: "Thankful for this crew"
