Bethenny Frankel Reveals the Reason Her Daughter Bryn Isn't on RHONY
The #RHONY mom explains why she's keeping her daughter's childhood out of the spotlight.
If you follow Bethenny Frankel's adventures on social media, it's clear to see that she absolutely adores her daughter Bryn. However, the six-year-old, who was featured on Bethenny Ever After, didn't appear on the last season of The Real Housewives of New York City.
Bethenny recently told PEOPLE that there are "a couple of reasons" why she decided to not have Bryn appear on the show this season. "A child with a microphone on them, with a mic pack on them, is not really natural. That's kind of like working. You have to be somewhere and you'll have a microphone on you and it's being filmed," she explained. "You don't know the effects of that later. If she were running through a sea and playing, that's not something that I would be upset about. I mean, people take pictures of us sometimes on the street."
The RHONY mogul went on to say that she wouldn't want Bryn to have the same experience as the Gosselin children of TLC's Kate Plus 8, having to have tutors or supervision around. "That doesn't sound natural to me," Bethenny said.
Bethenny finalized her divorce from Bryn's dad, Jason Hoppy, in July. However, she told Us Weekly earlier this month that the aftermath of the divorce has still been a challenging experience. "But the hardest parts have been anything that seems negative for my daughter. Anything that is unnecessarily negative for my daughter is really challenging for me," she said. "You know, you kind of have to look inside, find your strength."
Luckily, Bethenny confirmed that Bryn, as well as her dog Cookie, like her current beau Dennis Shields. Watch Bethenny discuss her relationship on Watch What Happens Live, below.
