Brandi Glanville Offers Support for Kim Richards
RHOBH star speaks out following her castmate’s arrest.
Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Brandi Glanville has spoken out about Kim Richards’ recent arrest for public intoxication, offering her support for her castmate and friend.
Brandi’s comments came on the For Crying Out Loud podcast in an appearance recorded Monday, after her fellow RHOBH star’s arrest but before Kim’s televised appearance on Dr. Phil. Speaking with hosts Lynette Carolla and Stefanie Wilder-Taylor, Brandi opened up about her experience in helping friends who have dealt with substance abuse, including Kim. "I feel bad for her,” Brandi adds. “It’s a disease you fight every single day. Every day you have to make the choice not to drink, not to do drugs. It’s tough… I know every day’s a struggle.”
In the podcast, Brandi spoke about trying to help friends through that struggle, and the role that she hopes to play in Kim’s journey. “My thing is, you can’t help somebody that doesn’t want help. And if they say, ‘I’m fine,’ then in their head, they’re fine,” Brandi adds. “And there’s nothing you can do until they say ‘I want to get help. I think I have a problem.’ … Until she says it herself: ‘I need help,’ I’m just her friend. Period.”
Brandi also said that she never witnessed Kim engage in any drinking or drug-taking. “I never saw her drink, I never saw her do anything. I never saw her do a drug,” Brandi says. “Did I see odd behavior? I did.”
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star said that her main priority now is to make sure Kim doesn’t feel deserted in her time of need. “Until she says to me, ‘There’s something wrong. I need help,’ it’s not my place to go and say, ‘You have a problem,’ because all that does is shut me down to her, she walks away from me and then she has nobody.”
