Brooks Ayers Says He "Misspoke" About His Current Health Status

The ex of #RHOC's Vicki Gunvalson clears up some of what he previously said about his health.

By Laura Rosenfeld

Brooks Ayers' health was a major topic during Season 10 of The Real Housewives of Orange County, and now the man himself is once again sharing his side of the story. Last month, Brooks told E! News that his cancer was "improving," going from a "stage 3 initial diagnosis now down to stage 2." But now Brooks is setting the record straight about his controversial comments in a new exclusive interview with E! News.

How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of Orange County on  Peacock and the Bravo App.

"I totally misspoke. I was trying to communicate that my numbers were improving, as a layperson trying to communicate, and I'm not a physician," Brooks told E! News' Melanie Bromley. "As soon as that interview aired, one of my PAs from a doctor's office said, 'Brooks, we never told you it went from stage 3 to stage 2. It doesn't decline in stage.' So I totally misspoke about that."

Even though Brooks' ex Vicki Gunvalson said that he "duped" her about his cancer diagnosis during the final part of the RHOC Season 10 reunion, he said she texted him after the episode aired Sunday night saying the opposite.

"She said no, she didn't feel like she's been duped and secondly, she does now believe that I have cancer," Brooks told E! News. "I don't know why somebody would change their mind as many times as she does."

See what else Brooks has to say when he sits down for a one-on-one interview with Andy Cohen November 12 at 9/8c.
