Cameran Eubanks Looks Back on Her 'Real World' Past
"I'm a recycled reality star!" the 'Southern Charm' star jokes.
Southern Charm's Cameran Eubanks is the epitome of calm, cool and collected on the show, but that just may be because this is not her first time at the rodeo. The TV veteran already has a major reality show under her belt: she was a cast member on The Real World: San Diego back in 2004.
"I’m a recycled reality star!" Cameran says with a laugh to Glamour, admitting that she had to be convinced to take on another reality show by good friend Whitney Sudler-Smith. "Whitney was a friend of mine, and he approached me about doing it. At first I said heck no, you couldn’t pay me to do it again. But once he explained the concept, I was more open. I liked that it was centered in Charleston," she says.
Coming from a show where "you literally have a camera in your face 24/7 for six months," Cameran says she's been a lot wiser with how she comes across—even though she's still known for being a straight-shooter. "For me, it’s mostly about having common sense. I say what everybody is thinking," she admits. "But the guys on the show are like my brothers, so it’s all in good fun—I’m never trying to come across snarky. And anything I’d say about them to the cameras, I’d say to their face."
One other important lesson she's learned? Keeping some aspects of her personal life—like her recent marriage—very private. "When I agreed to do the show, I said I did not want my love life on national TV," she explains. "My husband is the one who pushed me to do the show—he’s very supportive—but reality TV is not for everyone."
The second season of Southern Charm premiered last night and new episodes air every Monday at 10/9c.
