Captain Glenn Shephard Reveals What His Family Thinks of Below Deck Sailing Yacht

Captain Glenn Shephard gets into some pretty high-pressure and chaotic situations on Below Deck Sailing Yacht. So, what is it like for his family to watch all the drama unfold on the show?

Captain Glenn, who is originally from Montreal, Canada, revealed all during an Instagram Live chat with Below Deck Mediterranean alum João Franco on March 1. "My mom loves the show. My brother, his family, they all love it," Captain Glenn said. "Maybe I'm sort of like a pseudo-celebrity in the East Coast of Canada, Nova Scotia, where my family's from." 

But now that Captain Glenn is based in Palma de Mallorca, Spain and he hasn't been able to travel to the United States due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, he admitted that he hasn't been able to really see all the passion fans have for Below Deck Sailing Yacht in person. "I've met a few people who know the show, but here in Europe, they don't really broadcast it," Captain Glenn said.

Captain Glenn certainly hasn't let fame go to his head with João pointing out during their conversation, "You're one of the only people that I know who's come off the show that still posts scenery only and not scenery with themselves, so that's impressive."

Indeed, if you take a look at Captain Glenn's Instagram, you'll mostly see stunning photos of his travels around the world with the occasional shot of himself on his new ride or throwback photo. "Everybody's telling me I've got to post scenery with me in it," Captain Glenn said during the Instagram Live. "But I'm not a selfie kind of guy."

But now with a second season of Below Deck Sailing Yacht under his belt, he's working on it. "Share more pictures of yourself they said," Captain Glenn captioned a recent photo of his shadow taken on the beach in Spain. "I look so tall in this one."
