We're only two episodes into Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5, but there's already been a major mistake that could cost Captain Glenn Shephard a lot of money.

On Episode 2 of the season, which aired on Oct. 14, Gary King was driving the crew's tender as he brought a dancer (who was hired to entertain the guests that evening) from Parsifal III back to shore. However, due to the darkness of the night, Gary didn't see a rock, and ended up crashing the small boat. "I've driven around here hundreds of thousands of times. Not cool," Gary said in a confessional, noting this was the first time he's crashed in his entire career.

Thankfully, no one was injured in the incident. However, after assessing the damage, Gary declared, "Glenn's not going to be happy."

When Gary returned to Parsifal III, he immediately woke Glenn to break the news.

How did Captain Glenn Shephard react to the tender crash?

Glenn seemed relieved to learn that the tender wasn't leaking or sinking and that no one had gotten hurt, but there was still something on his mind: He didn't want to flood the engine.

"If the tender's got a hole in it, it won't sink because it's an inflatable tender, but it could submerge that engine and then we're buying a new one. And that tender is about 180 thousand euros," he explained in a confessional. (That evens out to about 200,000 American dollars, FYI.)

With that in mind, he asked that deckhand Emma Crouch kept an eye on it throughout the night.

Alone once more, Glenn muttered to himself: "It's always f-cking something."

What happened to the tender on Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5?

The next morning, Gary's first order of business was checking out the tender, and he was relieved to see it wasn't flooding. Glenn, however, wanted a more detailed report.

"Did you have a look last night? How do you know how bad it is?" the captain asked. "Dude, I want to figure this out. First of all, I want to get a video of all the damage: scratches, dings, dents, whatever. So let's get some video of it first."

Although significant issues with the tender could have made it unusable for the rest of the season, there was "hardly any" damage to account for — just a surface-level giant scratch.

"It looks like, luckily, this damage is cosmetic, so it's not something that's going to impact the performance of the tender. What we do can be very dangerous," Glenn said in a confessional. "This is not the way we want to start our season."

Navigating the tender (and yacht) won't be the only challenges the Parsifal III crew faces this season. Stay tuned for more as Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5 continues every Monday.
