Carole Radziwill: I'm a Lion When It Comes to Dating
The RHONY star explains her philosophy on love.
When Carole Radziwill isn't hanging in the Big Apple with her fellow Real Housewives of New York City gals, the author spends her time loving fast cars.
Carole opened up about her romance with high-speed vehicles and the men who drive them in an essay for Departures. For the assignment, Carole headed down south to hang with NASCAR stars and in the process of writing about them, she opened up about how she approaches love.
"I didn't want to disappoint him (I was angling for an assignment!), but 'looking' isn't a verb I use with dating," she writes about how she approaches love when asked by her editor. "I don't look; I glance. I observe. I’m a voyeur in my own love life. I’m a lion when it comes to dating. I sit and wait for long stretches of time, observing the plains, and when I’m hungry enough and something catches my attention, I pounce."
As it turns out, Carole has long been a fan of a guy who isn't afraid to drive above the speed limit. She reveals, "My first crush drove a white Chevy Camaro with a T-top and red leather bucket seats. I was a sophomore; he was a senior. My relationships in life sometimes mirror my relationships with cars—fast, bumpy rides. I like my cars fast."
In addition to dishing about her personal life, the RHONYC star notes that her celebrity gained her V.I.P. access at a NASCAR race, as well as some unexpected fans along the way.
"The show comes with anxiety and stress, but there are upsides, too. One is that the most unlikely people are fans. (I was once at a dinner with Anjelica Huston and learned that she watches every week.) Most of the access that I am granted in the pit is because of the show," she says.
