Christian Siriano Did Something on Project Runway Season 18 That "Was a Really Big Deal"
And he's breaking it down with someone who should be familiar to Project Runway fans.
Episode 9 of Project Runway Season 18 ended in a shocking way: Christian Siriano used his first-ever "Siriano Save" to keep eliminated contestant Brittany Allen in the competition. So this week on the Project Runway After Show, he didn't have an eliminated designer as a guest; instead, he invited Season 17 winner Jhoan "Sebastian" Grey to come on this week. And they had a lot to say about the Siriano Save.
Following the judges sending Brittany home after the tuxedo challenge, in which designers were tasked with showing their original take on the classic tuxedo, Christian felt she was too talented to leave. "I saved someone tonight. It was so exciting; it was my first save. It was a really big deal," he explained. "I had no plan going into this at all and when Brittany's look came down the runway and when I was seeing it in the workroom, I was like, menswear for Brittany made no sense. She's never made men's clothes ever. So that's actually pretty good, for never making it, I was like, all right."
Sebastian agreed: "It is OK," he said, noting that it was reminiscent of Thom Browne's designs.
And Christian was clear that he's done handing out saves and it's up to Brittany now: "She gets one more chance and I hope she impresses us," he said.
