Lady Gaga is taking Coachella by storm: she not only debuted a new track at the Southern California music festival over the weekend, she also began filming scenes for an upcoming movie. The film in question is the highly anticipated A Star Is Born reboot (technically a remake of a remake of a remake), in which Bradley Cooper will direct and also co-star.

Gaga followed up the premiere of her new song, "The Cure," with an invitation to the public to join in on the filming of some scenes for the upcoming country-inspired drama. According to Vulture, fans are encouraged to “be in the audience as Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga films scenes on the actual Coachella stages" April 18 and 19. Directions from the festival app detail how they can get involved (and what they should and shouldn't be wearing). "Help cheer and applaud their performances on camera...the scenes for these days will portray a Country Western music concert. All you Monsters that can attend should get decked out in your most comfortable denim & boots, throw on a Stetson (leave those pink Joanne hats at home) and come out to show your support!”

Shortly after filming began, some first looks at the movie's stars began to circulate on social media:

A Star Is Born will follow the rise and fall of a country singer played by Gaga, who will for the first time be billed by her legal name, Stefani Germanotta. EW reports that Andrew Dice Clay and Sam Elliott will have supporting roles. The screenplay was written by Will Fetters, Cooper, and Eric Roth (best known for his work on Forrest Gump), who adapted the story from William A. Wellman and Robert Carson. Here's the official plot description from the film, per a press release:

"Cooper plays Jackson Maine, a country music star who is on the brink of decline when he discovers a talented unknown named Ally (Germanotta). As the two begin a passionate love affair, Jack coaxes Ally into the spotlight, catapulting her to stardom. But as Ally’s career quickly eclipses his own, Jack finds it increasingly hard to handle his fading glory. In addition to playing Ally, Germanotta… has composed and will perform original songs in the film."

Gaga/Germanotta will also be recording original music for the movie, set to hit theaters on Sept 28, 2018. More filming is set to occur throughout the week.
