Austen Kroll Says It "Hurt" to Hear Madison LeCroy Say She Didn't See Herself Marrying Him
The Southern Charm cast member reacts to Craig Conover's conversation with his ex.
After Madison LeCroy called it quits with Austen Kroll, Craig Conover took matters into his own hands to ensure that the Southern Charm couple was officially over.
Craig had a one-on-one conversation with Madison in the December 17 episode of Southern Charm to ask her to stop talking to Austen so that they can both move on with their lives. Madison appeared hesitant to heed Craig's advice.
Austen revealed his reaction to Craig and Madison's talk during the December 17 episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, sharing that "it wasn't easy" for him to watch the moment back. "You don't want to see your buddy going to your ex-girlfriend. I don't care how much of friends they really are," Austen said in the above clip. "Yeah, I didn't like it. I was nervous."
When Madison agreed with Craig that she didn't envision herself marrying Austen, Austen shared, "Yeah, I don't know what to say. That hurt, and that helped me to kind of wrap my head around how she feels about me."
Craig, who appeared on WWHL with Austen, said that he gave his friend a head's up about his conversation with Madison while they were on vacation in Bermuda with Shep Rose this fall. "A lot of times, it's easier to just wait until it comes out. But it came out in Bermuda. Shep and I sat Austen down, and we were like, 'Look, dude, we have to tell you that Madison's just not the one for you,'" Craig recalled. "You know, we've been harping on it for two years now, but I think Austen's finally seen the light."
Also in the latest episode of Southern Charm, Austen asked John Pringle to not ask Madison out, even though they had broken up. Pringle agreed to follow Austen's wishes to his face, but then called their "guy code" talk "stupid" in an interview during the episode. Austen called Pringle a "little s--thead" on WWHL for making these comments.
Austen also shared his thoughts on Madison and Pringle going to the batting cages for a playdate with their respective kids earlier this season of Southern Charm. "She told me about that, and she was like, 'This is not a date. This is not a date. I don't really know Pringle and his kids,'" Austen said on WWHL. "And I am too frickin' trusting, Andy, that I'm like, OK, it's not. She made it clear to me that Pringle ain't it."
Also on the subject of Madison, Austen said on WWHL that he felt like the texts she continued to send him after they split were "maddening, because it keeps me on the hook."
Austen also responded to Madison's criticism of his future career and life ambitions. "It definitely upsets me that she won't just give me kudos for where I was and to where I am," Austen said. "And she just won't see the hard work and won't give me the credit."
Madison said it an interview with The Daily Dish podcast earlier this month that watching her breakup with Austen was “horrible to relive." "I was a little emotional watching that, and I’ll probably be emotional when I have other people chime in on it," she said. "It’s a hard thing to go through.”
She also shared an update on where she and Austen stand today. “He literally just texted me a minute ago,” Madison said. “I’ve tried to avoid him, in a sense. We talk here and there. We’ve seen each other. But there’s nothing like that romantically happening right now. We just can’t get along, and it’s unfortunate, because I think that there is passion there.”
