Sharknado 4 Is Just the Beginning of Cynthia Bailey's Acting Career

The #RHOA entrepreneur's next project? The movies!

By Laura Rosenfeld

The Real Housewives of Atlanta's Cynthia Bailey has been spending a lot of time in Los Angeles lately, and it's not just to launch her new luxury luggage line, CARGO by Cynthia Bailey. Like many who venture out to Hollywood, Cynthia is hoping to kickstart her acting career. "I definitely love acting. I'm still very interested in pursuing an acting career, and that has been really, really positive for me," the RHOA fashionista told The Daily Dish about spending much of her time in the City of Angels these days. "I have an agent. I've been out on auditions. I'm very well-received there."

How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of Atlanta on Peacock and the Bravo App.

And it looks like Cynthia has hit the ground running. Though she's done a little bit of acting in the past, such as a small part in an episode of The Cosby Show, the first big role in Cynthia's repertoire will be in the upcoming Syfy movie Sharknado: The 4th Awakens. "I'm excited about that. It was a small role, but it was very pivotal because I was with the main cast, and my part was to let them know that we were about to get hit by another 'nado," Cynthia teased. "It was small, but it was a strong role. I'm not saying that I'm about to get an Oscar; I'm just saying that I did my thing. I was very strong, and the director [Anthony C. Ferrante] was pleased, and I really hope to work with him more."

Cynthia's RHOA pal Kenya Moore is also set to appear in the Sharknado sequel. Unfortunately, any hopes for the two to recapture the onscreen chemistry they had in Kenya's Life Twirls On pilot (clip below) will be dashed. Cynthia said she and Kenya didn't film on the same day. "I don't know much about her part, but I'm sure she brought it. Kenya always does," she explained. "So I'm excited to see the movie. I'm excited to see my part in it, and I'm excited to see hers. Maybe we'll go together to the premiere."

So far, Cynthia has set the bar pretty high in terms of her dream projects. She said she'd love to work with the likes of Jennifer Aniston, Jennifer Lawrence, and Will Smith in the future. And if there's ever a Hangover Part IV, Bradley Cooper, Cynthia would happily volunteer to be a part of it. "I like romantic comedies. I like being funny. I like laughing. I like love. I love love stories, funny love stories," she said. "I love movies like [The Hangover series], feel-good movies that are just hilarious."

Cynthia may not have crossed paths with those celebs just yet, but, in addition to scoring Sharknado, she said she is already finding success at auditions and getting callbacks. "I have some stuff on the table. I can't really talk about it until it actually happens, but I definitely think that acting is another lane for me that I'm excited to go in," Cynthia told The Daily Dish. "You know, I was never really focused on it before, and I think age has no limit. I think I look great for my age, and now I'm at a point where I really want to focus on it. I definitely think I have a career in acting."

After watching Cynthia work it in the 'mercial for Cynthia Bailey Eyewear, we think so, too.
