Denise Richards Thanks Her Husband for Supporting Her During a Recent Health Scare
The RHOBH mom opened up about how Aaron Phypers was by her side when she went into surgery.
When Denise Richards faced a health scare earlier this year, she luckily had the support of her husband, Aaron Phypers, to help her get through it. Now, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills mom is opening up about the condition she faced head-on alongside her hubby.
"My hubby posted this [photo and] I need to actually thank him for taking such great care of me. This was a couple months ago [and] turned out to be a good lesson for me to always listen to my body. Being a mom, wife, [and] having a career sometimes it’s easier to just be strong and power through, I thought the pain [and] my other symptoms would just go away. They did not and got a lot worse," she recalled on Instagram. "I’m so grateful to [my doctor and] her fabulous team. I thought I had one femoral hernia, I actually had 2 femoral [and] 2 inguinal. And I waited way too long [and] didn’t even tell my husband how bad I was feeling (I know it was stupid) ... gotta always listen to our bodies [and] take care of ourselves."
Aaron also applauded his wife in a separate Instagram post about her health scare: "To the most incredible woman my soulmate. I am always in awe of your Beauty perseverance, dedication in all you do. These photos taken a couple of months ago from an emergency procedure femoral hernia not one but four! 6 hours waiting close by. Love you baby everyday getting stronger!"
Over the summer, Denise opened up about another health scare she was faced with after she was diagnosed with an enlarged thyroid in an equally-candid Instagram post. "It’s amazing to me in a short time eliminating gluten from my diet how much my thyroid has changed. A few of you pointed out after the #RHOBH reunion that my thyroid was enlarged. You were right, it was something I ignored until pointed out," she said at the time. "I had no idea how much our diet really can affect our body and for me how toxic gluten really is."
