Denise Richards Says Husband Aaron Phypers Is "Adopting" Youngest Daughter Eloise
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills actress opens up about the challenges she faces as a mom.
Denise Richards' husband, Aaron Phypers, isn't just a great partner; he's also a wonderful father.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills actress recently opened up on The Talk about how Aaron seamlessly stepped into his paternal role after the couple tied the knot last September, which fans saw earlier this season. "Oh, he's amazing as a daddy! I think he's having a harder time adapting to other things with me, like my mouth. That gets me in trouble," Denise said of how married life with Aaron is going during the May 10 episode of the talk show. "But no, he's amazing with my daughters and he's adopting my youngest, so it's really great."
Denise is mom to daughters Sam, 15, and Lola, 13, whom she shares with ex-husband Charlie Sheen, as well as Eloise, who turns 8 later this month.
Denise adopted Eloise as a single mom back in 2011. Eloise has a chromosomal disorder that “has caused a lot of developmental delays for her,” including only being able to "say a handful of words," Denise told PEOPLE in February. “And there are times when she feels like her age in understanding, and then other times where it feels she’s emotionally 3 years old," Denise continued. "It’s been challenging. I’m learning every day because they don’t really have a road map for her particular case."
But of course, Denise is committed to doing whatever it takes to make sure Eloise has a happy, healthy life. “Every child is different,” Denise told PEOPLE. “You take care of your children no matter what is going on with them. I don’t know if [Eloise] is ever going to talk like a typical child. But as a parent, you want what’s best for your children, and you just do it.”
Another challenge Denise faces as a mom is missing out on special moments with her daughters due to work obligations, which we'll see in Tuesday night's episode of RHOBH at 9/8c.
"All of us who are parents, it's very difficult juggling your career, and there are moments that you miss, and it's hard. It's definitely challenging," Denise said on The Talk. "You have to work to provide for everyone, but it's also hard missing those moments, too."
