Dolores Catania on Ex Frank's Hospitalization: “It’s Going to Test His Strength"
“This will be the first time Frank is physically defeated,” The Real Housewives of New Jersey cast member said.
Dolores Catania opened up about ex-husband Frank Catania's long road to recovery following his hospitalization earlier this week.
The Real Housewives of New Jersey ex landed in the hospital after dislocating his kneecap and tearing the quadriceps in both of his legs, he shared in Dolores' Instagram Story earlier this week. "I am going to be laid up for a while," he said in a video that showed him sitting in the hospital and wearing a brace on each of his legs, along with a walker in front of him, presumably to help him move around.
Dolores told Page Six earlier this week that the accident occurred on Monday, and Frank was slated to have "emergency surgery" on Wednesday. Dolores and Frank also confirmed he would be having surgery on Wednesday in her Instagram Story.
One of Frank's biggest concerns as he opened up about his injury in Dolores' Instagram Story seemed to be how long his recovery would prevent him from working out. “This will be the first time Frank is physically defeated,” Dolores told Page Six. “He’s going to lose his muscles for the first time in his life. Those huge, big legs. Those 20-inch arms. How is Frank mentally going to handle this? What defined him was his body and working out.”
Luckily, Frank has lots of people around him to get him back on his feet in no time, not only Dolores but also her current boyfriend, perinatologist David Principe, who has something of a bromance with Frank as well. “David will stay in the hospital with him overnight until he goes in for surgery,” she said. “I’m probably going to have to take care of him until he can walk again.”
However, Dolores said that she's going to do her best to "make it positive" for Frank as he goes through this difficult time. “It’s a long road,” she said. “It’s going to test his strength, and maybe part of my self-growth is going to help him."
