Dolores Catania Reveals Which Dancing Queen Would Be the Best Jersey ‘Wife

RHONJ's Dolores Catania and Margaret Josephs crashed a Dancing Queens premiere event to ask some burning questions.

Things are heating up with Bravo’s new series Dancing Queens, and we’re not the only ones getting excited.

How to Watch

During a series premiere event with Gibson Johns, host of Yahoo’s In The Know, Dolores Catania and Margaret Josephs of The Real Housewives of New Jersey crashed the red carpet in anticipation of Bravo’s latest show. And thankfully, the ‘Wives answered one of our burning questions when asked which of the newest Dancing Queens cast members would make for the best Jersey ‘Wife.

Dancing Queens takes viewers into the competitive — and oh-so dramatic — world of Latin ballroom dancing, an “addictive” hobby filled with sequins, spending, and sexy male dancing partners (oh my!). Featuring Colette Marotto, Donie Burch, Gaëlle Benchetrit, Leonie Biggs, Pooja Mehta, and Sabrina Strasser, the new series is sure to get you out of your seats, as it did for the RHONJ ‘Wives during a live Q & A.

olores and Margaret began their unexpected visit by asking the Dancing Queens ladies how to find a “sexy” partner (which you can read about here). But which of the Dancing Queens would make the best Jersey ‘Wife?

Well, according to Dolores, the obvious answer is Leonie Biggs.

“She’s a Jersey girl, you know?” said Dolores.

Leonie, a self-described “perfectionist,” comes from Haworth, New Jersey, part of the Garden State’s northern Bergen County. There, she and her husband raise their daughter, with all three appearing in the Dancing Queens premiere. Leonie holds a high-powered position in the finance world and, according to her Bravo profile, must juggle those responsibilities and having a new dance partner, which adds stress and involves long hours away from home.

Dolores later explained to The Daily Dish she always wants to welcome new people into the Bravo world and give them advice they need to succeed if they ask, which is how she formed a friendship with Leonie.

Leonie stood on the red carpet with Donie and Gaëlle for the Dancing Queens event and spoke with The Daily Dish. When asked by Gomulka how it felt “waltzing” into the Bravosphere, Leonie admitted that Donie was the most well-established “Bravo-holic” among them.

“As a huge Bravo-holic, it is just, like, very surreal to enter into this world,” said Donie. “I watch every Real Housewives franchise; I watch just so many Bravo shows and have throughout the years that it’s like very surreal that we’re here, and we’re included.”

She added that everyone they’ve met since filming with Bravo has already made her feel like “part of this family.”

“And everyone’s been so nice and very welcoming,” Donie continued. “We’re all very excited.”

Dancing Queens follows the women’s personal and professional journeys as they arduously rehearse for DanceSport competitions around the country. However, they all want the same thing: the annual dancing championship title.

To get there, the women must perfect standard international Latin ballroom dancing categories, including the cha-cha, samba, rumba, pasodoble, and jive.

Leonie takes the competition to heart; however, cutthroat ambition comes at a cost: being raised in a home where she felt she had to win to gain her parents’ affection, as alluded to in the series' First Look.

Thankfully, despite the rivalry with her fellow castmates, Leonie has also formed new friendships and maintained existing ones (such as her years-long friendship with Donie, which you can read about here). We’re left wondering now that Leonie continues cha-cha-ing her way into Bravo if she’ll continue forming friendships with other ‘Wives in New Jersey.

We certainly hope so!
