Kim Zolciak-Biermann Shares an Update on Tracey Bloom Following Her Recent "Scary" Surgery
Don't Be Tardy chef Tracey Bloom underwent an oophorectomy in January.
The Don't Be Tardy family encountered a health crisis last month when chef and longtime family friend Tracey Bloom underwent an oophorectomy, the surgical removal of one or both ovaries.
Now just a few weeks later, things are thankfully getting back to normal for Tracey and the whole Biermann bunch. "Tracey was back to work yesterday for the first time in almost a month. She had some large tumors removed from her ovaries," Kim Zolciak-Biermann told The Daily Dish during an interview in New York City on Tuesday, February 19. "It's been a little scary. She feels great, she's doing great."
Kroy Biermann added during the interview that Tracey has been given "a clean bill of health." "So she just has to recover, and she's doing great. I think she's waiting on a couple more results, but so far, so good," he shared. "So we're very thankful, very happy."
Tracey first opened up about her health issues during the January 23 episode of the House of Kim with Kim Zolciak podcast prior to her surgery. The chef shared that she was diagnosed with a large cyst that needed to be removed after waking up with immense pain and visiting the ER. She also noted that she underwent a number of diagnostic tests, including ones to see if she had cancer.
Tracey had surgery on January 30, and both she and Kim seemed in high spirits after the procedure, as you can see in the below posts on Instagram.
When The Daily Dish caught up with Brielle Biermann in New York City on Tuesday, February 19, she admitted that she hadn't talked to Tracey much about her health scare "because it's an emotional topic for both of us." "The few moments that we have spoken about it, she's doing better, she's doing great. It's not as bad as we thought it was, so that's great to know," Brielle said. "But we still don't know or have all the answers yet."
For now, Brielle said Tracey is "doing better" with her health. "She's being healthier. It's all about a lifestyle change, I feel like. So she's going through that right now, and she's handling it very well," Brielle shared. "She's emotional because she's kind of crazy, so she'll start crying randomly about it, but that's like, what else do you expect when you're going through something so crazy like that?"
Still, Brielle is staying positive, especially because not having Tracey in her life is not an option. "I think she's still gonna be around for a long time. She's not going anywhere, because who's gonna make me cheeseburgers? Like, I need her around," Brielle joked, before adding how much love she really has for Tracey. "And she's like my best friend, seriously. She's my go-to for everything. So she cannot go anywhere."
