Will Gina & Travis' Relationship Survive Living Apart? Emily Simpson Weighs in
The RHOC cast member "wasn't surprised" to find out that Travis Mullen and Gina Kirschenheiter were living separately.
Emily Simpson and Gina Kirschenheiter have been best friends since they both joined the cast of The Real Housewives of Orange County on Season 13, but is Emily in support of Gina's latest major life change?
In case you missed it, on the RHOC Season 18 premiere, which aired on July 11, Gina asked her boyfriend of five years, Travis Mullen, to move out of their shared home.
While justifying her decision, Gina said that she wanted her three kids, Nicholas, Sienna, and Luca Kirschenheiter, to have more space as they were getting older. Though Travis and his three kids did move out, he did not end his relationship with Gina.
On the August 8 episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Emily revealed if she thinks Gina "made the right decision in her relationship."
"I think she did," Emily said. "Honestly, she had been telling me for a long time that that was an issue, so I wasn't surprised by it. And I think she made the decision she thought was best for her and her children."
Elsewhere in the episode, Emily played a round of "1, 2, Agree or Disagree." When host Andy Cohen stated, "Gina and Travis' relationship will survive them living separately," Emily selected "Agree" as her response.
Are Gina Kirschenheiter and Travis Mullen still together?
Months after making the decision to live separately, Gina and Travis are still going strong in their relationship.
However, as Gina confirmed, having separate households has taken a toll on the pair's romance.
"It's just what we have to do for now. I don't want to live like this forever," she said during an exclusive chat with BravoTV.com in July. "Logistically, it's a damn nightmare. It really is, like, going back and forth all the time. But, it just feels like the right thing to do until we can actually take the next step."
Though living apart has come with its own separate challenges, Gina does not regret her decision.
"I would, looking back on it, make the same decision. And that's what's hard," she said. "Because even today, we're doing so well, Travis and I, and we're working through so much. But, we still sit on opposite sides of this decision."
As for when she plans on moving back in with Travis, Gina admitted that it is all "depending on a lot of his puzzle pieces falling into place."
