Former Top Chef Paul Qui Arrested for Alleged Assault in Austin
The #TopChef Season 9 cheftestant was released on bail over the weekend.
Paul Qui was arrested in Austin over the weekend for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend, The Daily Dish has confirmed. According to a police report, the incident took place on Saturday (March 19) at the home he shares with his girlfriend of one year, Stephanie Rodriguez.
According to People, the reported assault took place after the Season 9 Top Chef winner and his friends were partying at his residence. After she joined the group, the friends allegedly propositioned her. Qui then kicked his friends out of the apartment before allegedly assaulting Rodriguez. The Daily Dish has confirmed that Qui was arrested on charges of unlawful restraint and assault causing bodily injury to a family member, a representative for the Travis County Sheriff's Office said. He was released on Saturday on $20,000 bail.
