Gail Simmons Shared the Best Behind-the-Scenes Photos from Season 17 of Top Chef

In case you missed it, Bravo’s Top Chef has received a whopping four Emmy nominations this year. The series has been nominated for Outstanding Competition Program, Outstanding Directing For a Reality Program, Outstanding Picture Editing For a Structured Reality or Competition Program, and Outstanding Host For a Reality or Competition Program. 

After the news was announced on July 28, judge Gail Simmons celebrated by sharing a few incredible behind-the-scenes photos from the show, which you can check out below. Gail also shared a heart-warming message about the important role Top Chef has played lately, particularly in the lives of those who work in the restaurant industry. 

“Today we celebrate! Suffice to say, this season of @Bravotopchef was particularly meaningful, not only [because] it was All Stars and featured extraordinary talent, creativity, and diversity by our chefs, but it also aired in the midst of a pandemic that continues to challenge and upend the restaurant industry on so many levels,” wrote Gail. “Soooooooo, learning about our 4 @televisionacad EMMY NOMINATIONS this morning (for outstanding series, hosts, directing and editing!!!) felt particularly emotional and exhilarating!!” 

“Top Chef Season 17 gave us hope, comfort and solidarity; a weekly reminder to support and take care of each other, share our cultures and our tables, and be true to ourselves,” Gail continued. “I’m beyond proud of this season and especially our die-hard, dedicated, superhuman crew who make it all happen. So very grateful to be part of a show that proves, year over year over year, restaurants matter.”
