Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik Confirm They Have Broken Up: "Whatever's Meant to Be, Will Always Be" (UPDATED)
"I'm forever grateful for the love, time, and life lessons that Z and I shared," Gigi tweeted.
UPDATE (March 14, 2018, 12:00 p.m.): Following news of Zayn Malik and Gigi Hadid's split, Gigi's mom, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum Yolanda Hadid, posted a cryptic quote on Instagram that seemed to relate to the breakup. The post reads: "The only way that we can live, is if we grow. The only way that we can grow is if we change. The only way that we can change is if we learn. The only way that we can learn is if we are exposed. And the only way that we can become exposed is if we throw ourselves out into the open."

And here we were, thinking love was still alive. On March 13, Zayn Malik and Gigi Hadid went ahead and shattered that illusion when they posted personal messages to fans, confirming that they have parted ways.
On Twitter, the singer posted a heartfelt note that confirmed the ending of the two-year courtship. The post served as a joint statement of sorts, and — despite the sad nature of the news — was nothing but respectful and loving. Get out your hankie, this is some moving stuff.
"Gigi and I had an incredibly meaningful, loving, and fun relationship and I have a huge amount of respect and adoration for Gigi as a woman and a friend. She has an incredible soul," Malik, who has reportedly unfollowed both Gigi and her mom, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum Yolanda Hadid, on Instagram, wrote. He continued: "I'm grateful to all our fans for respecting this difficult decision and our privacy at this time." See the full tweet, below:
Hadid also took to social media to share her thoughts. And, it seems that The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills daughter and top model is acting no less loving and kind than her former beau: "I'm forever grateful for the love, time, and life lessons that Z and I shared," she wrote, in part. See her whole statement, below:
It seems that the two will remain close — and, who knows? Perhaps a reconciliation isn't totally off the table. After all, the pair has split and gotten back together before.
