Girlfriends' Guide to Freedom?

It's almost the end of an era, Girlfriends' Guide to Divorce fans. After it was announced last year that Seasons 4 and 5 would be the series' last, Lisa Edelstein revealed that shooting had wrapped on the show at the end of March.

Paul Adelstein, who stars as Abby's ex-husband Jake and serves as a producer on the show, shared what the final few moments on set were like during an interview with The Daily Dish earlier this month. "It was emotional. I was glad to be there for the last episode and the last shot. It was nostalgic and fun, and I think we did a great last episode," he said. "But it was definitely bittersweet to watch something that you love so much end."

And it's a wrap on #girlfriendsguidetodivorce season five. I WILL MISS EVERYONE SO MUCH!!!!

And yes, Paul said he is going to miss GG2D as much as the rest of us. "I’ll miss it. Great group of people, and it was fun to work with [GG2D creator and executive producer] Marti [Noxon] and Lisa," he shared. "And I’m glad it’s going to have a life and people are so into it, and I’m glad it hasn’t all finished airing. It has a pretty great fan base."

As for what we can expect from the upcoming fourth and fifth seasons of GG2D, Paul said that fans should be very happy with the end of Abby and her gal pals' journey. "They do a really great job of taking Abby and the other girlfriends in directions that we didn’t think they were going to go," Paul said. "And I think that’s been a hallmark of the show, along with emotional twists and turns we didn’t see coming, and that’s certainly true of the last two seasons."

You can also catch Paul's work in his latest show, Imposters, on which he serves as co-creator and executive producer. The show was recently renewed for Season 2. Watch Paul surprise the cast with the exciting news, below.
