Gretchen Rossi Transforms Her Front Porch Into the Cutest "Little Pumpkin Patch"
The RHOC alum is back with more decor inspiration for the fall season: "Wanna see how great it looks?"
It didn’t take long for Gretchen Rossi to embrace the fall spirit.
Less than a week after summer’s end, The Real Housewives of Orange County alum offered another dose of fall decor inspiration. And this time, she focused on her outdoor space. Gretchen took to Instagram on September 26 to share a full breakdown of how she decorated her porch for the cozy autumn months.
“It’s all finished, you guys. Wanna see how great it looks?” she asked at the top of the Reel. “Ta-da! Our little pumpkin patch.”
Gretchen goes pumpkin shopping with Slade Smiley & their daughter
Gretchen did a quick rewind and showed how she transformed her home with the help of her longtime partner, Slade Smiley, and their young daughter, Skylar Gray Smiley. The former OC ’Wife began by placing two welcome mats at the foot of her porch steps and a couple of hay bales on each side. She then took dozens of pumpkins and squashes and positioned them along the walkway.
The Michigan native later shared her family's shopping trip to Trader Joe's, where they purchased two carts' worth of gourds.
"You guys always ask what it takes for me to create my little pumpkin patch on my front porch," she said in a September 27 video, which showed a pile of pumpkins in her SUV. "This is what it takes."
Gretchen shares all the details of her outdoor fall decor
Gretchen said she took a methodically random approach when positioning her pumpkins, as she wanted the space to look natural.
“I just mix and match, I layer, I tilt some of the pumpkins to the side,” she said.
Gretchen then took some small flicker lights and placed them throughout her "pumpkin patch."
“They look so beautiful at night,” she said about the lights. “I also like to add leaves between all of the pumpkins to make it look like the leaves just fell off of the trees… It adds a really nice touch.”
After decorating around her steps, Gretchen pulled out a few faux-leaf garlands and hung them around her window sills and entryway. She went on to grab a couple of autumn wreaths and placied one between her front windows and the other on her door.
Gretchen explains why she loves decorating for the holidays
The video showed monogrammed pumpkin lanterns sitting on her porch railing as well as decorative pillows on her patio sofa. Other highlights included small and large lanterns, potted mums, and a rustic “Farmers” sign that was hung near her entrance.
“I just love this time of year & decorating my front porch for Fall!” she wrote in the caption, adding that the whole process took her roughly two hours. “I enjoy this creative outlet! I just love decorating for the Holidays and making our home feel festive! Do you guys like to decorate? Hope this inspires you all to do the same!"
