It wouldn't be Halloween without an epic couple's costume from Jay-Z and Beyoncé, and the star couple did not hold back for this year's spooky holiday. Over the weekend, the duo headed to a holiday bash at pal Kelly Rowland's house, and arrived in style.

Bey and Jay were dressed in clever outfits meant to channel another famous pair of musicians. Take a peek at the collage below, and see if you can guess which artists inspired these looks:

If you guessed Lil' Kim and Notorious B.I.G., your pop-culture IQ is on point.

Inspired by Lil' Kim's look in the video for Missy Elliott's "The Rain," Beyoncé wore a white shirt dress held up with suspenders; she accessorized with a curly black wig and a dark pair of shades. Meanwhile, Jay channeled the legendary Brooklyn rapper in a red leather jacket paired with baggy jeans; he carried a cane to capture the whole effect. 

Lil' Kim rose to fame as part of the Junior M.A.F.I.A., which was a band formed by Biggie himself. And, the relationship wasn't strictly professional. Lil' Kim and the rapper dated before his untimely death in 1997.

Of course, this isn't the first time Mr. and Mrs. Carter have won Halloween. In 2015, the couple dressed as characters from the 1980s film Coming to America. 

And in 2016, the duo went all out channeling Barbie and Ken. 

These looks take serious planning, so we can't help but wonder if the power couple is already at work on a joint costume for Halloween 2018.
