Dr. Contessa Metcalfe Opens up About Her Future with Her Husband
The Married to Medicine doctor shares an update on her "work in progress" marriage with Dr. Scott Metcalfe.
Dr. Contessa Metcalfe's marriage definitely needed some TLC this season of Married to Medicine. The physician's decision to go back to school in Nashville showed her and husband Dr. Scott Metcalfe that they needed to address some issues in their relationship, including how they communicate with one another.
Though Dr. Contessa and Dr. Scott shared some tense moments this season of Married to Medicine, we're happy to report that this relationship is as healthy as ever these days. Dr. Contessa made that very clear with her latest Instagram post on December 9, showing the couple out on a "date night" at the movies.
"We gettin it together y’all and workin on us," Dr. Contessa said in the post.
Dr. Contessa referred to her marriage as "a work in progress" while reflecting on her ups and downs with Dr. Scott (you can see some of that in the above clip) during an interview with The Daily Dish backstage at the Married to Medicine Season 7 reunion in November.
"Relationships that are worth their salt go through peaks and valleys, and I think concealing the valleys is just not good for anybody," Dr. Contessa shared. "I think we're a victorious couple, and I feel like we're coming out stronger, we're getting to know each other better even after being married for 15 years. There's still so much more to learn about each other. So therapy is helping with that."
Earlier last month, Dr. Contessa also showed immense gratitude for having Dr. Scott in her life while wishing him a happy birthday on November 9. "Not sure I deserve you, but I thank the Lord for you," Dr. Contessa gushed. "Cannot imagine a [world] without you in it!"
Dr. Contessa previously addressed the marital drama we see this season of Married to Medicine in a post on Instagram on September 16.
"Ok y’all DAYUM! I’m going to make a lot of mistakes, and one HUGE one is failing to show my appreciation and adoration for my #soulmate @scottmetcalfemd. He’s the best man I know, but what is #realmarriage is we don’t always agree, are NOT always connected, and #marriageisnotagame," Dr. Contessa shared. "You can watch us evolve and grow, and feel free to call me out! #onlyafooldespisescorrection The great thing about reality tv is my mistakes are immortalized, and despite what I tell @scottmetcalfemd, I’m NOT always right. I’m learning as I grow! I love and appreciate you husband/lover/friend."
