Jada Pinkett Smith Has an Interesting Opinion of Original Aunt Viv's Takedown of Her and Will Smith
So, are there any hard feelings?
When Jada Pinkett Smith shared that she would skip the 2016 Oscars in the wake of a controversy surrounding the lack of diversity among that year's nominees, there was one person who didn't see eye-to-eye with her viewpoint. That person was the notoriously-salty Janet Hubert, who played the original Aunt Viv alongside Jada's hubby, Will Smith, on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
In a YouTube video, the actress, in part, shared (via PEOPLE), “There’s a lot of s*** going on in the world that you all don’t seem to recognize. People are dying. Our boys are being shot left and right. People are starving. People are trying to pay bills. And you’re talking about some motherf***ing actors and Oscars. It just ain’t that deep."
With some distance since the grievance was aired, Jada sat down in the Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen Clubhouse on Thursday where she revealed her opinion of, well, Janet's opinion. "You know what? I understood because a lot of people had a lot of different actions and everybody has the right to believe what they believe and to have strong feelings, just like I had strong feelings," she said. "I totally get it."
When Andy pointed out that Janet's feelings seem especially strong, Jada added, "Well, you know, hey, everybody's got to handle their situation how they want to handle it."
