With the Wedding Weeks Away, Jax Taylor Reveals His Current Status with His Estranged Mom
The groom-to-be shared all about their rift on the Vanderpump Rules Season 7 reunion.
With less than two months until his wedding day, Jax Taylor offered an update on his estranged relationship with his mother, Marie Cauchi, during the Season 7 reunion of Vanderpump Rules. At the time of the reunion taping, it was still unclear if she would end up attending their wedding: "You don't think I want my mother at my wedding? Me getting married, I think it's a big deal," Jax shared during the emotional season-end sit-down.
Jax and Brittany then recalled the events that took place around the time of his father Ronald Cauchi's passing in late 2017, noting that they were going to go see him at that time, but "I was told to wait. I was leaving the next day to see my dad and he died."
He continued: "I understand my mom lost her husband of 42 years. I get it; I don't understand. I don't get it, but I'm her son. I'm your son. I'm the only man in the family. Why wouldn't you talk to me? Why wouldn't you call me and say, 'He's not gonna make it, kid. Get on a f--king plane now.' Why wouldn't you say that regardless of what my dad said, 'Don't tell the kids?'"
Jax noted that he believes his father would have been overjoyed at the news that he and Brittany decided to marry. "He would have been ecstatic," Jax shared. "He loved Brittany."
Jax's father lost his battle with cancer in December 2017. Later, Jax revealed that he, as well as his sister Jenny Cauchi, and his mother had become estranged following his passing, which seemed to still be the case in late April, per tweets he exchanged with fans.
At the Season 7 reunion, Lisa Vanderpump suggested that maybe he use the reunion as a platform to reach out to his out mom with Brittany adding: "Marie, please reach out your son."
