Jax Taylor Reveals What It's Like to Attend Church with Justin Bieber and the Kardashians
"It's more spiritual," the Vanderpump Rules groom-to-be said of his newfound faith.
After some downs in his life, Jax Taylor is a changed man. And that includes a conversion of sorts for the Vanderpump Rules SURver, who has started attending church on the regular. Jax opened up about embracing religion in a recent interview with The Daily Dish, noting how it's changed his outlook. He attends Churchome in Los Angeles, one of the two big churches in the L.A. area with rabid celeb devotees (Hillsong being the other). And he admits that being more spiritual has helped him through some recent hard times, including coming back from that incident with now-fiancée Brittany Cartwright, as well as passing of his dad last December.
"Well I've been starting to go to church a lot. So when I started [dating] Brittany, she's obviously very Christian and goes to church a lot. And I wasn't anti-church — I grew up going to church — I just never went," he explained. "I just felt like I didn't need to go again."
He shared that his change of heart came as he's been "evolving or just changing my life" — and he began to attend services. "I don't really go to a really churchy-type of church ... Like the Kardashians always sit in front of me, or [Justin] Bieber's next to me all the time."
It seems like Jax has also converted his fiancée to the world of Churchome, as she started to also attend along with him. "[Recently,] I took her for the first time and she was just like ['This is crazy'... 'Literally there in front of me [is] Hailey Baldwin and Justin']," he recalled. "But it's actually a fun church. It just relates God to today and what you're going through today. It's not really in the book with Moses and all that stuff; it's just kind of dealing with today."
Jax attends services run by Pastor Judah Smith, who is very tight with Bieber. "It's more spiritual; it is a Christian church and we go every Wednesday night. The pastor flies in from Seattle," he said. "He's just really good. He's just amazing. He's funny and I need it. It's like my recharge for the week. I look forward to it. It's gotten to the point where it's like, 'Brittany, let's go,' where she was the church one at first. But now I am."
