It’s great to have friends in high places — especially when one of them can help build your dream home.

The Real Housewives of New York City’s Jenna Lyons put on her interior design cap to help her famous friend, Emily Hampshire, whom you’ll probably recognize from the hit comedy series Schitt’s Creek.

How does Jenna Lyons know Emily Hampshire?

The RHONY newcomer and her architect friend, Brandon, came to the drawing board at Jenna’s SoHo apartment. She explained that interior design was something she was “wanting to do for years,” a dream she pursued after leaving her position as executive creative director and president of J. Crew in 2017.

“I renovated a brownstone, and ironically, I got more attention for that than I did in my career in fashion,” Jenna said.

One of Jenna’s clients — as seen on RHONY Season 14, Episode 6 — is Canadian actress Emily Hampshire, most famous for playing Stevie Budd on Schitt’s Creek. She’s also had roles in Syfy’s 12 Monkeys,The Rig, and the 1998 film Boy Meets Girl.

Jenna told Brandon she hoped they could discuss furniture plans with Hampshire for a cottage the actress purchased outside Toronto.

Jenna explained she and Hampshire met about two years ago after being set up for a date.

“We didn’t have a love connection, but we had a friend connection,” said Jenna.

Hampshire reached out to Jenna for help with designing the new home, and their friendship “snowballed” from there, according to Jenna.

Hampshire appeared virtually to meet with Jenna and Brandon, giving “studious” vibes with her red sweater embroidered with the Canada-style maple leaf. Hampshire asked if Jenna noticed “anything different” before telling her she was “wearing Troi.”

What is Troi, you might ask?

Jenna is also the co-founder and C.E.O. of LoveSeen, a brand specializing in cruelty-free, false eyelashes. One of the more popular lash designs is Troi — named for LoveSeen co-creator and makeup artist Troi Ollivierre — and is currently sold out on the LoveSeen website.

The false lashes range in thickness and style, with other designs named Jack, Axel, and Fern.

“Emily’s been one of my biggest supporters,” Jenna told RHONY producers. “She’s like, ‘Send them to me, I’ll do an unboxing, and I’ll wear them, and I’ll give them to my makeup artist.’ It’s really meaningful.”

This year, Hampshire released a TikTok video of her and Jenna at the Toronto home to discuss renovation plans. Wizard of Oz holes, freezers for bodies, and slides to the nanny suite were just some of the pair’s laugh-out-loud ideas.

Hampshire has also been deemed worthy enough to access Jenna’s famous closet, which has made many-a feature, including in Allure, Elle, and Vogue (it’s also a much-talked-about topic in RHONY Season 14). While many would be lucky to catch a glimpse of the closet, Hampshire seemed to make herself at home, as seen in a June 26, 2022 Instagram post celebrating Pride month.

“Happy Pride, NYC, I’ve moved into [Jenna Lyons’] closet,” Hampshire captioned the post.

In March, Hampshire spoke about Jenna on the In Her Words podcast, explaining how Jenna helped her be more assertive about what she wanted with her home renovations and how to be unafraid to speak up.

Hampshire suggested Jenna write a book titled “How to be a Boss” lest she publish their texts, as seen in a March 18 video clip.

“What I love is she’ll sometimes just give me the language shift,” said the actress.
