Jo De La Rosa Reveals the Episode of The Real Housewives of Orange County That Still Makes Her Cringe (It Involves Slade Smiley)

Let's throw it way back to Season 1 of The Real Housewives of Orange County. The year was 2006. Silky "going-out tops" were officially in style. And five women showed us what it's really like to live in Coto de Caza. 

Among those OG cast members are some 'Wives who have stayed a fixture of our TV viewing nights throughout the years, like Vicki Gunvalson. But it's only recently that we started hearing more frequent updates on Jo De La Rosa. 

After taking a break from social media for a couple of years, the Orange County alum has recently resurfaced to share what's going on in her life. It's been an emotional few months for Slade Smiley's one-time fiancée: She recently broke off her second engagement, and moved back to Los Angeles to begin a fresh chapter in her life. 

But even as she looks forward to new beginnings, Jo is taking a moment to look back. In a February 28 Instagram post, the singer shared a photo of RHOC's Season 1 cast, along with a heartfelt note recollecting her time on the show. 

"In honor of Throwback Thursday, this is for all my Real Housewives of OC fans that have been with me since my days on the first season of the show! Can you believe it’s been over 10 years since I was first on here?!?! " she began.

Jo's caption continued: "I’ll always consider [Bravo] and everyone who was a part of the cast as my forever family and I’ll never forget where I started. So many incredible opportunities have come my way since, even until this day, and my life has been forever changed. I will always be grateful to have been a part of this incredible cast."

Jo went on to ask fans which episodes of RHOC stands out most in their memories. "Mine was losing a bet with Slade and having to wear a french maid costume to clean his house! Cringe worthy outfit moment I still regret until this day! Why Jo, why?!" she wrote. 

The Daily Dish caught up with Jo back in 2016, when RHOC was celebrating its tenth anniversary. And yes, she brought up the French maid lewk back then as well.

"Obviously, I did the first couple seasons, just kind of seeing what Real Housewives has become, for me, I feel blessed that I was a part of the entire experience," she said. "Watching it back now, I would have made some different choices in terms of French maid outfits, maybe some of my fashion choices of 2006 were questionable," she said.
