Dolores Catania Comments on What's Next for Teresa and Joe Giudice
The New Jersey Housewife reacts to the RHONJ husband's recent release from custody.
Joe Giudice made jaws drop when the first photos of The Real Housewives of New Jersey husband emerged following his release from ICE custody earlier this month. In fact, longtime friend Dolores Catania even thinks Joe is looking like another famous Garden State guy these days.
“I think I want to go to the same camp he did. He looks so great! He looks like Mike ‘The Situation.’ They look alike,” Dolores said during an interview with Us Weekly last week. “He just spent almost four years in jail. You don’t come out looking the same, that’s for sure.”
We soon came to learn that Joe got that new bangin' bod by doing some MMA (mixed martial arts) training, a career his wife Teresa Giudice previously confirmed he's hoping to pursue in the future. However, Dolores noted to Us Weekly that MMA is not a new passion of Joe's. She said that he has “been doing karate for many years and he’s a big fan of Jean-Claude Van Damme.”
Joe requested to be released from ICE custody and allowed to fly to his native Italy in September, which was granted earlier this month. Since landing in Italy, Joe has been keeping up with his MMA training and spending time with family, as well keeping in touch with his loved ones back home, such as Teresa and their four daughters Gia, 18, Gabriella, 15, Milania, 13, and Audriana, 10, via FaceTime. Sources recently told TMZ that Joe is getting acclimated to his surroundings and is planning on looking for a job soon.
Dolores told Us Weekly that she sees big things in Joe's future, saying that he'll probably become the “mayor of the town in Italy that he’s from." She also said that she's “sure he’ll find his footing.”
Joe and his family are still awaiting a final decision in his ongoing deportation case. But if the worst-case scenario does occur, Teresa previously said at the RHONJ Season 9 reunion that she doesn't think she would follow Joe to Italy if he does end up getting deported. "I hope that's not a decision I have to make, but to pick up my children and just move to another country, I don't think that would be good for my children," she told Andy Cohen at the time. "So, I mean, so, no, I probably wouldn't."
Dolores commented on Teresa and Joe's future during her interview with Us Weekly. “She said this in front of 2.5 million people, that she would not follow him there,” Dolores shared. “The jury for me is still out on whether or not that spark is still there when they see each other. However, they haven’t yet. So, I can’t speak on that.”
Dolores previously opened up about how much Teresa and her daughters are hurting during this difficult time in the above video exclusive to Bravo Insider. "Joe may get deported from this country forever. That is so devastating," she shared. "The girls expected their dad to come home after his sentence was over, so this is ripping out the rug from under their feet again."
