Josh Flagg Defends Spending $9.2M on a House Before Seeing It: "They Didn't Tell Me..."
The Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles agent gave his reasoning for purchasing an expensive, dilapidated mansion.
On Season 15, Episode 3 of Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles, Josh Flagg finally toured the expensive mansion he bought sight unseen with his bestie, Tracy Tutor (revisit the moment in the video above). Though the property was his childhood dream home, the decision to purchase the expensive estate without seeing it first proved to be rather disastrous, as the house was not in the best shape.
"It's really f-cked up that from the outside it looks like a jewel," Tracy stated during the episode as she and Josh toured the place. "How much did you pay for this again?"
Just a cool $9,295,000, ICYMI.
On the July 25 episode of Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, Josh answered a fan's question about his decision to make the pricey purchase without ever seeing the house IRL.
"They told me it needed a little fluff, they didn't tell me it didn't have a ceiling!" Josh hilariously responded.

Details on Josh Flagg's $9 Million Mansion Purchase
In the MDLLA episode, we got a better understanding of what Josh is talking about regarding the home's dilapidated nature. "You're essentially starting from scratch here," Tracy noted during their walk-through. "Are you ready for this?"
Josh explained why he wanted to make the purchase during an interview confessional. "I've loved this house since I was a child. And by the way, I'm not alone. It's one of those beautiful houses that everyone walks by and is like 'It's so perfect.'"
He continued: "I've waited my whole life to see the inside of this house — suddenly the plot has changed. At least there's nice crown molding?"
The home's interior wasn't the only area that needed to be fixed up.
When Josh and Tracy saw the backyard, they were taken aback by the fact the 14,000 square-foot lot was full of various lawn ornaments and trash. "What's under those blue tarps?" Tracy asked as Josh hilariously replied, "I don't even want to know."
As for the much-needed renovations, Josh estimated the project's timeline. "This is not going to be a nine-month project," the agent said in an interview. "This is going to be, well, a three-to-four-year project."
