Brandi Redmond on the "Trash" Comment: "I've Always Thought Kameron Thought Less of [Me]"
The Real Housewives of Dallas mom said she hit her "breaking point" during this Season 4 moment.
As if the drama wasn't hot enough during The Real Housewives of Dallas ladies' trip to Mexico this season, things got even more intense — and unexpectedly so — when an argument erupted between Brandi Redmond and Kameron Westcott in Wednesday night's episode.
Brandi and Kameron clashed over the roommate situation at Kary Brittingham's vacation home. Things started to escalate, and when Brandi used the F word, Kameron tossed a napkin at her and said, "That was trash."
Kameron explained her reaction in an interview during the episode. "There's no reason to use the F word in my face. It's bad manners," she said. "I am mortified."
"Well, if somebody is going to call me 'trash,' I just hope that they'll recycle me, first of all," Brandi joked to The Daily Dish while discussing the moment prior to the episode airing.
But as we saw during the episode, hearing the word "trash" really hit a serious nerve with Brandi. "It stems from my childhood, and I grew up in a military family, and we didn't have the finer things in life. I lived in a trailer in a trailer park," Brandi explained as her eyes filled with tears during the interview. "I remember feeling like people didn't want to invite me over because I was less than. What's sad about it is I can remember those feelings, and I've always thought that Kameron thought less of [me], like I always have felt that from her. And it wasn't the first time. She's done it several times. I think I had a breaking point."
Even though Brandi encountered some challenges growing up, she isn't ashamed of her background. "I'm so glad that I was raised the way I was because I feel like it's taught me a lot about definitely being humble," she shared. "I just don't want to pass judgment on anybody because you don't know anybody's circumstances or what they're going through that day."
Now Brandi couldn't be more proud of how far she and her family have come since those humble beginnings. "I'm so blessed, and I'm so proud of my parents. I mean, they were teenagers, and they beat the odds," she said. "They're still together. I think that they're such a testimony for marriage and just relying on your faith because they're living life now."
As much as they tried to resolve their issues, Brandi and Kameron did not leave off on the best note in Wednesday night's episode. See if they can mend fences in next week's episode of RHOD Wednesday at 9/8c. Watch a preview, below.
