Kandi Burruss Is Ready to Get "Petty" After Nene Leakes Claims She's "Hating" on Her
Kandi Burruss said the RHOA cast is "over and tired of" Nene Leakes and Kenya Moore's drama.
It seems that Kandi Burruss has achieved the rare feat of staying pretty much cool with everybody this season of The Real Housewives of Atlanta. But now it appears that she's found herself in some new drama with Nene Leakes.
Nene had a bone to pick with Kandi during a recent livestream with fans on her YouTube channel. "For some reason, though, Kandi just can’t be on my side for nothing," Nene said in the video, as reported by ET. "The fact that this girl — every single season — she sits in her interview and just snaps at me and can never, ever say, 'NeNe was right about this.' It just really comes off like hate, you know what I’m saying?"
"She always come off like she’s just hating me so much. Girl, dang!" Nene added. "There’s enough space for all of us. She ain’t gotta hate on me."
Kandi recently told ET that it seems like she and Nene "have been bumping heads" lately. "And I really don’t know what her problem is, you know what I’m saying?" Kandi shared. "Well, now I do, because I have been petty."
Kandi also addressed Nene's comments in the video, saying that she felt "like she was starting it" and was "just trying to get people [to think] I was coming for her during this season."
Actually, it was quite the opposite, according to Kandi. "I was the one who was trying to get everyone back on the same page with her. So, I don’t know how she changed that into trying to make people believe that I have something against her," Kandi said. "I honestly feel like it’s just because I’m friends with Kenya [Moore]."
Kandi said that just because she's close with Kenya doesn't mean she agrees with everything her friend does. "People want me to be mad at Kenya so much, you know what I mean? They want me to be angry with her about her behavior on the show or whatever, but it's, like, Kenya and I really hit it off, like we're really cool and, at the end of the day, I do tell her when I feel like she's not, you know, doing something that is cool or whatever," Kandi said. "We do have our talks. I'm very straightforward. You do not have to worry about me beating around the bush, but just because I may not agree with something she does, it doesn't mean that we are going to fall out."
As for Nene and Kenya's season-long beef, Kandi said that she wishes the Georgia Peaches would just move on. "I feel like everybody else is, like, we — honestly — we’re over and tired of [Kenya] and Nene arguing with each other," she said. "It's always one of them walking away so let's just have a real conversation and try to do it without arguing. And then, you know, get to the bottom of whatever the drama is because to be honest with you, I'm still confused on where the beef originated, you know?"
Still, Kandi is holding out hope that Nene and Kenya can one day be cordial with one another. "It was so many arguments that happened this year, especially between the two of them," she told ET. "And so, I just was, like, you know what? I'm over it. I hope they are over it. I hope — I don't know if they will ever get to a point where they will be able to be on the same page, but it will be nice. It would be nice."
