Kandi Burruss Has Some Thoughts on Monique Samuels' Bird T'Challa
The RHOP parrot is already a fan of Kandi's work, so is she a fan of him?
Monique Samuels has brought a new addition to the cast of The Real Housewives of Potomac for Season 5: T’Challa, the Samuels family’s African grey parrot. T’Challa has definitely already ruffled the feathers of a few of the women (bird pun absolutely intended), but now, cast members from other franchises are beginning to weigh in as well.
In a September 17 Instagram Story, Kandi Burruss of The Real Housewives of Atlanta appeared to welcome T’Challa to the Bravo world with open arms (wings?) when she shared a video Monique had posted of the bird flying around to Kandi’s song, Fly Above. From the footage, it looks like T’Challa is definitely a Kandi fan, so it’s nice to see that she’s a fan of his, too.
Kandi shared the video with a crying laughing Animoji, writing, “Literally!” as the caption.
RHOP viewers have watched this season as Monique continues to develop a closer bond with T’Challa. Although the rest of the women have yet to warm up to him (he did fly right for Wendy Osefo’s head while the women were chatting at Monique’s lake house, and made quite the first impression on Karen Huger), the proud pet owner opened up about her new feathery family member during an interview this season, which you can check out, below.
“I have always been an animal lover, and I said, ‘I need to get a bird.’ He’s like a stress reliever to me,” said Monique. She also explained that the more frequently she has conversations with T’Challa, the more likely he is to begin to speak on his own. At this rate, T’Challa will have his own tagline by the end of the season!
