Karen Huger Got Her First Tattoo with Her Daughter, Rayvin: "I'm Celebrating Life"
Plus, The Real Housewives of Potomac daughter shared new details about her career in fashion and content creation.
"I'd never thought I'd see the day where my mom's getting a tattoo," Rayvin Huger shared of her mother, Karen Huger, on Season 8, Episode 10 of The Real Housewives of Potomac, which aired on January 21. "This is like ... monumental."
During the episode, the pair ventured to a tattoo parlor to get some matching ink — a first for Karen.
"Everyone knows I'm doing 'triple 20,'" Karen stated in a confessional of her crafty way of sharing her turning 60. "I'm celebrating life. It's Mother's Day weekend [and] I wanted a small 'g' for my mother, [Georgia], to commemorate her life."
She added of her taking on the body art with her daughter: "If your 25-year-old daughter wants to get a matching [tattoo] with you ... it sort of makes me cool, you know what I'm saying?"

While preparing for the main event, Karen was sure to ask for some "numbing cream" as Rayvin questioned if she was "nervous" about her first tattoo.
"Actually no," Karen began. "I do my little injections for beauty anyway, so it's not very different, right?"
"No — it is!" Rayvin clarified. "Oh," Karen stated, looking a bit concerned. "So, maybe I should be nervous?"
Though she was a bit on edge, Karen went ahead with getting the ink: a small, lowercase "g" on her left ankle. Once the tattooing began, she tried to stay calm, however had to note that the pain "felt like giving birth."
After letting out a couple of shrieks as the tattoo artist (coincidentally named Ray) did his work, Karen remarked, "I'm doing good, Ray, right?" to which he laughed, "It just took me longer than it should have!"
After he was done, Karen checked out the ink in the mirror, noting how "cute" it looked. "I think that mommy is smiling from heaven right now," she added about her mother, for whom the tattoo was honoring. "I do too!" Rayvin exclaimed.
Then, it was Rayvin's turn.
The Big Apple resident was a little more of a trooper than her mom, breathing through the process as Ray inked up her left arm.
Later, in an interview with her daughter, Karen gave her take on their matching designs. "I love the little 'g,' it's so quiet," Karen shared. "My mother was a small woman in statute. It's so her. And then to do it with my daughter ... it says I'm a little cool! What's cool is that [Rayvin] thought I would do it."
Rayvin playfully retorted: "I did not think she would do it!"

Elsewhere in the episode, Rayvin joined her mother in an interview to share some new details about her life working as a model and influencer in New York City.
"Life has been beautiful," she began. "New York is as busy as ever, as always. I've [been doing] a lot of fashion and content creation, which has been really fun. I do fashion PR which has been absolutely nuts ... but I love it. I never slow down. One day I'll slow down. I'll be around 85."
Proud mom Karen then stepped in: "Hallelujah. That's my girl!"
