Kate Chastain Is Practically Speechless After Kevin Dobson's Latest Comments
We're also pretty shocked by what the Below Deck chef said, to be honest.
Kate Chastain and Kevin Dobson haven't been holding back how they really feel about each other this season of Below Deck. But even the chief stew wasn't prepared for the chef's latest comments about their working relationship.
In the Below Deck Season 7 After Show (above), Kevin actually praised how Kate handled the ventilation crisis in the galley in the December 16 episode.
"Kate was really good in this situation. She set up a fan on one of the benches, and we just blew it straight out the door," Kevin said. "Kate sorted me out then. She's always been kind of a trooper in those situations and seeing the funny side of things. Just to kind of bring me out of the 'oh my f--king god situation,' she's really good at."
Even Ashton Pienaar, of whom Kate also has not been the biggest fan (pun most definitely intended), couldn't help but give the chief stew some major props for how she rose to the challenge. "Kate's really good at picking up the mood. Often when the mood's down, she sees the light in certain situations," the bosun said in the After Show. "She's good at improvising, number one. She's funny and smart as well. So sometimes in a s--tty situation, she brings in that little bit of brightness, and it's really appreciated in those moments."
When the news of Kevin and Ashton's kind words got back to Kate, she could hardly believe her ears. "Well, this is news to me," she reacted to the After Show clip on Twitter on December 18.
Perhaps there's hope for camaraderie among the crew, after all!
