Kate Chastain Explains How Her Life Has Changed the Most Since Becoming a Mom
The Below Deck alum's life looked a little bit different before she had her baby boy, Sullivan.
Kate Chastain's journeys look a little different these days. While the former Below Deck chief stewardess used to sail through the South Pacific and the British Virgin Islands on a superyacht, she's currently navigating naptime, diaper changes, and teeny designer outfits. Suffice it to say, Kate's life has changed since becoming a mom — and she recently revealed the way in which it's changed the most.
In case you missed it, the Florida native gave birth to a beautiful baby boy, Sullivan Cay, back in May. "Sullivan is a family name," the new mama explained via Twitter, a few months after her son's delivery. "I don’t call him Sully. Ever.”
Something else Kate doesn't do with her son is sip martinis. But that doesn't mean she hasn't thought about it. In one of the many adorable updates she's shared on motherhood, the proud mama shared a photo of Sullivan taking a cozy nap on her chest. "One of us is dreaming of having a martini," Kate quipped in her caption.

More recently, Kate graced fans with another snap of Sullivan. In an Instagram Story, the baby boy was seen chilling in his rocker. Clasping his teeny hands together, the little one had the cutest, most curious expression on his face. He wore a soft, blue-and-white onesie.
In her caption, Sullivan's mom wrote: "Just thinking about how this time last summer I had just returned from trips to the south of France, horseshoe bay and Newport."
Not that she'd go back in time: The former stew has also shared that just looking at her little peanut sends her "oxytocin levels through the roof."
While Kate isn't traveling as much as she used to, she does have a pretty lovely home base. Back in March, the Below Deck alum announced that she had moved into a new house — and she had Sullivan in mind as she unpacked her boxes.
“Baby needed a craftsman bungalow,” she captioned a photo of her home, which she had just moved into at the time. In subsequent posts, Kate showed how she and Sullivan were settling in.
The baby looked cozy and content in his swing, which was set up atop a patterned rug in Kate's sunny, white living room. The space also had two overstuffed white chairs, an oval-shaped coffee table, and a bookcase that Kate had started to decorate with a bust, a framed image, and a dainty plant.
