Kate Chastain Reveals Why She Named Her Son, Sullivan (PHOTO)
The Below Deck alum also shared a potential nickname for her little one, Sullivan Cay.
Ever since the birth of her son, Sullivan Cay, Kate Chastain has provided fans with numerous updates on his upbringing. From sharing a precious photo of her son with his “best friend” to showing what a day is like for her and baby Sullivan, Kate has been an open book about her motherhood journey.

Most recently, the Below Deck alum opened up about where she got the inspiration for her newborn’s name after a fan took to Twitter to ask if she would nickname her son Sully. Kate responded to the fan, writing, “I’m SO GLAD you asked…Sullivan is a family name.” She continued, “I don’t call him Sully. Ever.”
While Kate made it clear that she has no plans to refer to her son as Sully, she did share a name she might consider in the future. “I think a cute nickname if any will be Van,” she wrote back to the Twitter fan account. Kate shared the insightful conversation on her Instagram Story and expressed her firm stance on her son's name by including the hashtag Sullivan in the post.
Does Kate Chastain want more kids?
Sure, Kate has only been a mother for a couple of months, but that doesn’t mean she hasn’t already thought about having more babies in the future. In fact, during a recent interview with E! News, the first-time mom revealed where she stands on having another little one.
“I think I’m done. I think one will be enough for me, but check back in another year, because I think, with time, you forget stuff,” Kate said.
She also went on to explain how she couldn't fathom how some of her loved ones have more than one child, saying, “I’m texting all my friends and siblings who have multiple kids, like, ‘I can’t believe you did this more than once,’ but also that’s what people said to me about Below Deck seasons and I kept going back for that as well. You never know.”
