Southern Charm's Danni Baird Has Found the Secret to Being Friends with Kathryn Dennis

"I feel like I've gotten desensitized a little bit to all the chaos that just happens," Danni Baird said.

By Laura Rosenfeld

Danni Baird has been there for Kathryn Dennis during all of the ups and downs in her life over the past few years. However, it's not always easy for Danni to show her support, as we've recently seen this season of Southern Charm.

How to Watch

Watch Southern Charm on Bravo Thursdays at 9/8c and next day on Peacock. Catch up on the Bravo App.

Danni opened up about what makes being Kathryn's friend so challenging sometimes during an interview with ET that took place prior to the start of this season of Southern Charm. "She shuts down, but then she stems on [what you said] later," she explained. "You never know when she's going to stem on it, and how deep she is going to stem on it, and so, like, you can't read somebody's mind, and she's not somebody that's gonna — she doesn't want to burden anybody. She's not going to call me and say, 'Danni, you really hurt my feelings and this is why…'"

She added, "Like, you kind of have to see it the hard way, and reverse and figure out how it got there. But I love her anyway."

Danni told ET that over the years she has learned when to check in on Kathryn and when to let her friend come to her. "I feel like her life has always been this way, if anything — and I feel bad about this — I feel like I've gotten desensitized a little bit to all the chaos that just happens," she said. "You know, you ask yourself, 'Am I being a good friend, because I'm not asking about X, Y, Z?' But then again, this is her normal. Like, it's not mine."

Kathryn and Danni have repaired their friendship since all of that drama at Craig Conover's pillow party. "She means everything to me, so for that to just like unfold so quickly, that scared the s--t out of me," Kathryn said during the Southern Charm Season 6 After Show, which you can check out, above.

Shep Rose also found himself at odds with Kathryn that night, but he said their relationship has actually gotten stronger since this heated moment. "I think that's the worst version of Kathryn, and she's shown that in seasons past, the sort of like diva behavior," he said on the Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen After Show on June 19. "I like the version of herself when she's sweet and nice and is almost a little reserved. And she just took a departure from that, and I just didn't agree with it. And I called her out. And I think we're better friends for it."
