Kathy Wakile Is Ready to Make New Memories in Her New Home

Kevin Jonas is Kathy's Contractor?

It's a new year, and that means new beginnings for the Wakile clan. After putting in a lot of time and effort building their Franklin Lakes, NJ abode, The Real Housewives of New Jersey family has officially moved into the posh pad. "We're settling in and, you know, still trying to find a spot for everything. But it's going really well," Kathy Wakile told The Daily Dish after making the move over an eventful holiday season.

How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of New Jersey on Peacock and the Bravo app.

The Wakiles purchased the lot in 2013, and built their dream house from the ground up (with the help of Kevin Jonas!) after spending two decades in nearby Wayne, NJ. "Well, since Rich and I built the house ourselves, pretty much every step of the way, we feel like this is our home already," she said. "Isn't that weird? To leave something [after] 20 years, it's a strange thing to happen. Since we've already started building it, we've seen ourselves in that house. It's not like we walked into a house that was built already. We've been building it ourselves, so it feels like home."

And, yes, you bet the RHONJ couple are patting themselves on the back after all that work. "We're proud — really, really proud that we accomplished it, and relieved that we accomplished it because it was a big project," Kathy added. "You know, a lot of couples can't handle it. But we're really relieved and proud of ourselves."

But that doesn't mean Kathy doesn't feel nostalgic about the home she watched her family grow up in. "When it comes down to it, the people and the memories always come with you, so we'll build new memories. [But] we'll miss the new beginning of that house because that's where we started out," she said. "But there's a new beginning to [this house]. I don't get too attached like that, it's kind of weird. I get more attached to the memories and the people in our family. So hopefully we'll build a new set of memories in this new house."
